Image
Hello, Lodestars! 🌟      I know it's been a while since our last meeting. But, here I am with a new task!💥😊 This week I am not going to give tooooo many informations. (I hear you guys shouted as "YESS!") 🤨😒 OK. I am kidding, of course.😂😁  Today, our topic is "Wikiing". In our Instructional Technologies and Material Design course, we were supposed to write a book review of our favorite book.      Please, have a look at my book review by clicking on this⇨ The Wren/Çalıkuşu       While creating this page I really had fun. Because of the fact that every time I have the chance to talk about something which I love so much, I get pretty excited and start talking like nonstop. 👩💬 And this is one of the things that I love... Talking about books!😍💖 If you are a book worm like me, you are free to comment on my review, or if you want to read my favorite book you can find it on Amazon  .             Take care everyone! Another Entertaining Way of Technology: Podcasting

Image
Good morning, afternoon, evening and night, Lodestars! Sorry for the long entrance but I thought I should have considered the time difference.👾😅        Do you guys have any suggestions about this post's topic? 🙇            Oh, I totally forget the title!🙈 I assumed that you guys actually understood the topic. Yesss! Podcasting..📢          What is "podcasting"? Briefly, "A podcast is a digital broadcast made available on the Internet. The word “podcast” is derived from “pod” as in Apple’s iPod, the popular portable audio player, and “cast” from “broadcast”, meaning “to transmit for general or public use.” *I took this info. from this site . If you require to learn much more, please click on "site". 😇           At first, when I heard "podcasting", I felt anxious. Because, it was a new term for me and I did not know how to use it properly. In this job, we were together with my best friend Refiye or "Refo".  P

My Thoughts On Teaching with Technology

Image
Howdy Lodestars!🙌 You guys are shining bright like a sun that I had to put my sunglasses on even if the weather is cloudy in Turkey. 😎🌞    In former posts, I gave you so many informations about the usage of technology in language classrooms. This time, it is my turn to talk about how actually I feel about teaching with technology philosophy.          I couldn't actually count how many times I mentioned 21st Century.      Our century needs the technology.      🔖As a student, I remember when I was at primary school and had 6 different lessons on a day which means 6 different, heavy and thick books. Unfortunately, being a 35 kg child was not an opportunity for me. You can totally say that my books were heavier than me.😓 Every day , when I got home, I was so tired and always complaining to myself & to my family that " There should be another way to bring my books to school. "      🔖Some years after, there were  smart boards, online lea

The Brief History of CALL

Image
Hello Lodestars!🙋 Yesterday, I was thinking about actually how similar the teachers and a lodestar are. They both somehow touch someones' hearts and lead them to the right paths. Thus, I decided to call all of you as "Lodestars". 🌟                  After the footnote, shall we talk about what actually CALL is?           Here below, you see a timeline which is made by me.  If you want to create your own online timeline click here.                       For a Better Understanding✅ Firstly, please, make sure you read and examine the timeline. Secondly, read the information part I've written.           If we want to clarify CALL, we can clearly say  "the search for and study of applications of the computer in language teaching and learning." (Levy, 1997: 1)  While talking about 21st Century Learning, we always said that, "Students want to be creators, they are the ones who need to use the technology."

What is 21st Century Learning?

P.S. If you want to do your own Word Cloud as mine, please  click on my Word Cloud.  Hello everyone! I hope you are all good. Today, my main focus is going to be on 21st Century Learning. If you are ready, fasten your seatbelts. 🚀🌠  As we talk about 21st Century, at first we all remember 4Cs. What are these 4Cs? Let's have a look at them. Creativity❗ Communication❗ Collaboration❗ Critical Thinking❗   In our classrooms, we want to be active in order to be on-task. While we are on-task with the help of student/learner-centered activities we can reveal the creative one that actually was sleeping so long inside us. During these fun counting activities, we can interact with our peers and collaborate with them. And Taa-Daaaa! 👏Here is a beautiful project that we made by sharing our ideas and making judgement about the problem with a critical approach.   Today, learning for passing the exams has become old-fashioned. Learners want to learn for their own progress. This
